It has often been observed that civil wars lead to behaviour even more vicious than when the fighting is between adjacent countries. Bosnia which wished to separate from the othe republics of the disintegrating Yugoslavia was no exception.

MSF provided medical support for all sides in need, without any evidence of favouring one group over another. I made two expeditions on their behalf. The first to Cazim, the second to Tuzla where I did not have the experience of not being sniped at.
